First Holy Communion is a sacred event in the Catholic Church where a person receives the Sacrament of the Eucharist, the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ, for the first time.
First Holy Communion Programme at Sacred Heart Church
First Holy Communion classes are held every first Sunday of the month from November until the children make their First Holy Communion on the feast of Corpus Christi in June. We follow the Redemptorist publication I Belong book which explains the Mass beautifully through Bible stories and activities suitable for children from 7 years old. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children to make it a truly family experience.
