The Sacred Bond of Marriage in the Church

The Sacrament of Marriage is a public sign that a person is giving themselves totally to another person.  The loving union of a couple is an example of family values and God’s values.  In this Sacrament God unites a man and a woman in a faithful, life-giving and exclusive bond.  Married love is called to reflect God’s love as revealed to us in the Scriptures.

Preparing for Your Sacred Marriage at Sacred Heart Church

When a couple requests the Sacrament of Marriage at Sacred Heart, the Marriage Preparation Team, led by Kitty and Anthony Hooey, guides them through the Arundel and Brighton diocesan course. This course covers expectations, communication, problem-solving, relationships, sexuality, and parenthood, ensuring the couple fully understands the sacred vows they will take before God.

Couples from outside the Arundel and Brighton Diocese must seek diocesan permission to marry here. Additionally, they must liaise with the Sacred Heart Marriage Registrars to obtain their Marriage Schedule from the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead registry office.
