The Power and Purpose of Confirmation
Confirmation Programme: Exploring Faith Through Alpha Youth
In the Sacrament of Confirmation we are anointed by the Holy Spirit to go out and bear witness to God’s love by both word and example. Receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation completes the grace received at Baptism. We are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with strength through the Holy Spirit.
Confirmation details
Confirmation lessons are held weekly during term time for young people aged 13 and over. We follow the Alpha Youth Programme, which provides candidates with a strong foundation in their faith. Topics covered include:
Who is Jesus?
Why Did He Die?
What is Prayer?
Why Do We Read the Bible?
Who is the Holy Spirit?
Why and How Should I Tell Others?
Additionally, the lessons explore the Mass and the Sacraments to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the Catholic faith.
Confirmation lessons begin in November, with candidates being confirmed six months later in May, either at Arundel Cathedral in Arundel or at St George's in Weybridge.
The Confirmation Catechists are Pauline McKenna, Peter Wills and Philip Noons.
